Joe White's love of photography began as a kid in Tidewater, Va with a beat up Polaroid camera and a sense of adventure. He's upgraded his gear a few times since then, but his love for the medium remains as strong as ever.

That same sense of adventure brought him to Culpeper, Va where he's lived for 20+ years, photographing the soft, warm lights of Davis and Main at night, the rolling, sun-dappled hills of the surrounding Piedmont, and the rich variety of wildlife that wander the hollows of the Blue Ridge.  But his favorite subject by far is people. He has a unique talent for putting people at ease in front of a camera. This allows him to capture the essence of a person at a moment in time, whether it's a joyous event, a poignant encounter in a passing, or a softly lit portrait session.  

After 35+ years in a national media company, Joe launched Joe White Photography, LLC and decided to devote his full attention to the medium he loves. His photos can be found in the town's and county's promotional materials, as well as on a few shop walls around downtown Culpeper.
